TKU’s 2016 Spring Banquet Fun
【Kai-jun Lin, Wan-xun Qin, Jia-ling Liu, Lanyang Campus Report】Since 2005, Tamkang University has held the annual Spring Banquet activity, inviting alumni to enjoy a festival of fun different activities. This year the event took place on Mar. 26 in the Tamsui Campus Gymnasium, Student Activity Center and Lanyang Campus’ Shao-mo Memorial Activity Center. The festival consisted of 700 alumni holding hands and joining hearts. In attendance was President Flora Chia-I Chang, the three university vice presidents, Former President Yun-shan Lin, Former Vice President, Kan-nan Chen as well as first and second level administrators.

【Hong-wei Lu, Shi-qing Huang, Tamsui Campus Report】Tamkang University’s Career Guidance Section and the New Taipei City Government Career Service Center jointly held the “2016 Tamkang University Career Exhibition.” On Mar. 30 at 10am in the Student Activity Center and Hai Bao Street a large display of career services related to technology, banking, education, film, dining and traffic were available for students to get a close look at internships and possible future careers. Many companies participated in the career fair, including Gigabyte Technology, HIWIN, Fetnet, Din Tai Fung, Grand Hotel, Shinkong, SET, Eva Air and more, sharing information related to 3,700 job openings as well as career entry examinations.
New Blood at Tamkang TImes
【Kai-jun Lin, Tamsui Campus Report】Last month Tamkang Times received 24 new employees for writing, correspondence, recording, photography and filming. From Apr. 29 to 31 they attended a preparatory training workshop in the Communication Hall and the Gymnasium. Director of Tamkang Times, Yu-pei Ma, encouraged the new reporters to go deep into their studies of correspondence while also inspiring older members to raise the level of quality of the paper and then invited everyone to the tea party celebrating Tamkang Times’ 1000th article. The training workshop consisted of 4 editors introducing the workload, awarding regulations, special speaking skills as well as the main points of news interviews and writing. New member and first-year student of the Department of Chinese, Miao-ru Jian, expressed, “I feel that the workshop has really helped me get familiar with the job. Even though everything is very new to me, I look forward to being very experienced and skilled at this job.
