TKU RECOMMENCEMENT CEREMONY WAS BROADCASTED VIA INTERNET
Ambassador Julio Mock Cardenas of the Embassy Of The Republic Of Panama was invited to address to the graduates. In the ceremony, President C. I. Chang present a special Diligent Prize to Lin Wen-hua, an Ontogenesis Imperfect patient, for her assiduous spirit. To offer the chance to witness the important commencement ceremony for the graduates¡¦ parents who can not attend the meeting personally, the school has broadcasted the whole ceremony via internet. <more>

UP TO 7317 GRADUATED STUDENTS: INCLUDING 67 PH.D GRADUATES
According to the Office of Academic Affairs, there are 7317 graduated students in 2008 academic year, including 6152 college students, 853 with master degrees, 67 with PhD degree. The number of Ph. D graduates increases remarkably. <more>


PROGRESS IN ¡§JUNIOR ABROAD¡¨ PROGRAM: 452 STUDENTS GO TO 15 COUNTRIES¡XHIGHEST NUMBER OF THE COUNTRY
The amount of junior, graduate students and the exchange students, who will study abroad in of the Sister Schools who study abroad in the 2009 academic year, reaches to the high point again. In this abroad studying program, there are totally 452 students, who will go to in 47 Sister Schools and 16 non-Sister Schools in 15 countries, spreading in America, Europe, Asia and Australia, and study for a year. The flag-passing ceremony, hosted by President C. I. Chang and Founder Clement Chang, took place in Student Activity Center at June 25 (Wed.) at 14:30. <more>


TKU PRESIDENT WENT TO JAPAN TO SIGN COOPERATIVE CONTRACT WITH U OF ELECTRO-COMMUNICATIONS: ¡§CROSSOVER IT ROBO-MECH REMOTE CONTROL CONTEST DEVELOPMENT¡¨
President C. I. Chang, Vice President for International Affairs, Tai Wan-chin and the chair of the department of Japanese, Peng Chuen-yang, went to Japan to visit three sister universities from June 9 to 12, including Waseda University, Aoyama Gakuin University and the University of Electro-Communications. There are three missions in this trip--visiting the sister universities, visiting the exchanges students and propelling the international cooperative project. <more>


JUNIOR OF DEPT. OF CHEMISTRY, CHEN JUAN-YUAN GETS SCHOLARSHIP TO STUDY FOR THE MASTER OF MEDICINE IN TEMPLE UNIVERSITY
TKU has cooperated with Temple University in the programs of ¡§3 plus 2,¡¨ ¡§double degrees¡¨ for bachelor and master. The first student benefited by this program appears. Chen Juan-yuan, junior of Dept. of Chemistry, is accepted by the School of Medicine. Chen is advised by Professor Kao Huey-chuen of Dept. of Chemistry, Temple University, who is also a TKU alumna. Chen will go to Temple University for studying the master programs, Molecular Biology & Genetics Program, and he has won $2000 scholarship from Temple University. <more>


DIVERSE GRADUATION CEREMONIES: MVS AND PLAYS
Excepting holding the entire school graduation ceremony in Shao-mo Memorial Gymnasium at 10 a.m. today, many departments like EMBA also hold graduation ceremony for themselves. They broadcast MV and present short play to send off graduates. <more>

STUDYING ABROAD WITHOUT WORRY
To decrease the anxiety for junior abroad students of Lanyang Campus and help them prepare well to study abroad and adapt themselves into the local life, Counseling Section held a forum, ¡§Birds Want to Fly: Preparing for Studying Abroad¡¨ in Lanyuan Campus (9th and 12th). <more>


FORUM ON CULTURAL CREATIVITY INDUSTRY
The ¡§Integrated Forum on Cultural Creativity Industry¡¨ was held by the Creative Learning and Innovative Industry-Academic Cooperation, College of Liberal Arts on June 16th, at L522. Dean of College of Literal Art, Chao Ya-ly, would be the chairperson in the forum. Wang Jung-wen, (President of Yuan- Liu Group and Chairman of Taiwan Creative Cultural Developmental Company), and Chi Li-chuan (CEO of cooperative center with Ministry of Education and the consultant of Fa-Lan Porcelain) were invited to this forum. Moreover, there were many experts and professors attended to this forum to exchange their opinions. <more>


DIGITAL TEACHING WITH E-PEN
A briefing meeting, ¡§Application of E-pen in TKU Classrooms,¡¨ was held by the Distance Education Development Section on June 11th to discuss how to utilize the characteristic of the E-pen in the field of digital teaching. During the meeting, Vice President for Administrative Affairs Dr. Kao Po-yuan indicates that the technology of E-pen overcomes the incompatibility between traditional Chinese painting and Western painting, and such a technology can be used in many languages. Dr. Kao believes that E-pen would be an important tool to meet the need for the internationalization and teaching of Chinese culture and language. In the meeting, Chang Ben-hang, Vice Director of Carrie Chang Fine Art Center, introduces the core technology and demonstrates the special functions of the e-pen. He emphasizes that e-pen¡¦s writing functions conform with the computer system, with low storage space and can be displayed in diverse speeds. The work created by e-pen can be printed out with proportional enlargement, without damaging the original quality. <more>
