On November 4th, The Russian Language Department celebrated its 20th year at TKU! President Flora Chia-I Chang and Dean of the Foreign Language Department Hsi-Deh Wu, attended the Russian cocktail party that symbolized the department’s 20th anniversary. President Chang mentioned, “Even though the Russian Language Department is the youngest department at TKU, the number of students interested in Russian culture continue to surge over the years. Every year, third-year students are excited to travel abroad and fully embrace Russian culture in our language exchange program.” Fourth year students lead the assembly with a traditional Russian dance. The vice president of international affairs expressed that the music filled the air with enthusiasm and charm. The assistant for the Representative Office of Moscow, Sergey Chudodeev, stated that the celebration felt just like taking a trip home.

The Office of Research and Development Gets a Double Dose of Good News

The Champion Incubation Center participated in the 2013 Outstanding Incubation Achievement competition and took second place. They won the division of Industrial Economic Small and Medium Size Enterprise, defeating twenty other competing groups. On the 19th of this month they will receive their award at the Taipei International Convention Center.

TKU Helps Fight For the Whole City Award

“Tamkang is Amazing!” said assistant professor Shan Ju Christine Chi of the international department, who will be in Jiaoxi on November 28th, helping Yilan obtain the Whole City Award. This is an award focusing on environmental management and the creation of livable communities. The director of the environmental department, Chien Mu Yeh, said that he is honored to be able to help in anyway and has devoted all of his services to lend a hand in this competition.

TKU Receives Environmental Protection Award for Third Consecutive Year
Tamkang University receives the 22nd EPA award. This makes TKU the first and only private university to receive this award for three consecutive years. Tamkang University will have the honor of receiving the 22nd EPA award (Environmental Protection Award). Tamkang University is the first and only institute to receive this award for three consecutive years. On November 6th President Flora Chia-I Chang met with Vice President of Taiwan Den Yi Wu while partaking in the award ceremony held at the Military House of Heroes. Po-yuan Kao, Vice President of Administration, received the award in representation of the university.

The Golden Eagle Award Was Presented at Tamkang’s 63rd Anniversary Celebration

Tamkang’s 63rd anniversary celebration was held on November 9th in Shao-mo Memorial Gymnasium. In attendance was President Flora Chia-I Chang, former Presidents Yun-shan Lin and Horng-jinh Chang, the board of trustees’ Yea-hong Chen, President of the University Alumni Association Headquarters Ding-chuan Chen and honorary President of the Tamkang University Association Luo-sen Chang. Also in attendance were former Golden Eagle Award winners including President of the Worldwide Federation of Alumni Association Rui-long Sun, President of Tamkang University Alumni Association of North America Song Chen, and President of the Alumni Association of Tamkang University in Taipei Yao-shen Chen.
