TKU Once Again is Listed Among Favorite University Graduates for Employment in Cheers Magazine Survey

【Reported by Jia-wen Lin, Tamkang Times】Cheers Magazine has posted the name list for the “2014 Large Enterprise Most Favorite University Graduate” results. The survey gathered data from 2,000 enterprises ranking Tamkang University in 8th place for the overall most capable university graduates in the entire nation and first place among all Junior Colleges in Taiwan.

【Reported by Jia-wen Lin, Tamkang Times】After the winter break, the university faculty of Lanyang, Taipei and Danshui gathered together for the first day of work on February 14th to attend the “New Spring” tea party in the Chueh-sheng International Conference Hall. In attendance was President Flora Chia-I Chang, the three vice presidents as well as many professors and administrators. The tables were plated with delicious delicacies to welcome the year of the horse. The room was decorated with radiant colors and Chinese characters that represent good fortune and future success.

【Reported by You-ru Li, Tamkang TImes】Once again the College of Engineering is in position to win the National Quality Award. The evaluation took place inside the Chueh-sheng International Conference Hall on January 15th. This year the Office of Physical Education, Human Resources Department and the College of Engineering are all under review to accept the National Quality Award. On the review board is Dean of the College of Business and Management, Chien-liang Chiu, Dean of Student Affairs, Chih-en Ko, Assistant Professor of the Department of Electrical Engineering, Chun-liang Yang, Professor of the Graduate Institute of Asian Studies, Ching-lung Tsay, Specialist of Academic Affairs, Androw Pan, and Assistant Manager of the College of Science, Yu-huan Tsai.

13 Students Graduate From First Asian-Pacific Long Distance Online Master Program

【Reported by Yan-ling Chen, Tamkang Times】Tamkang University held a graduation ceremony for its first “Asian-Pacific Long Distance Online Master Program” in the Chueh-sheng International Conference Hall on January 17th. After two years, thirteen international students were successful in their completion of the course. In attendance for the graduation ceremony was President Flora Chia-I Chang, Vice President of Academic Affairs, Gwo-hsing Yu, Vice President of International Affairs, Wan-chin Tai, and Dean of the Graduate Institute of the Americas, Hsiao-chuan Chen. Also invited to make an appearance was the Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Latin America, Mr. Jorge Alvaro Pozzi Ciaran. Everyone came together in this special ceremony to congratulate these 13 individuals of this elite digital graduate program.

【Reported by Jia-wen Lin, Tamkang Times】Last month from the 20th to the 22nd the Graduate Institute of European studies held the 6th Annual European Union Winter Course and the 3rd Annual Russian Winter Course. It attracted students from 100 different Junior Colleges all over Taiwan. Vice President of International Affairs, Wan-chin Tai stated, “The purpose of this event is to let Taiwanese students peer deeper into European society. You could say it is a social service for Taiwan.” The curriculum was made up of both hardware and software that emphasized the uniqueness of European culture.
