EXHIBITING SOCIAL SERVICES ACCOMPLISHMENT

An exhibition on the accomplishment of social services will be held on the Exhibition Hall of the Business Building from April 26 to April 29. Accompanying this exhibition, the Extracurricular Activities Guidance Section, Office of Student Affairs will lead a group of several dozens of TKU students to do one-day social service at the Creation Social Foundation Homes for PVS Sufferers.

The student clubs that join this exhibition are: the Alumni Association of Er-Chi, the Alumni Association of TKU in Pingtung Area, Chia-Yun, and Changhua Hsien. Moreover, Taekwondo and Harmonica Club along with those clubs who joined a program on promoting and assisting the development of the student clubs in elementary and middle schools will take part in this show. Other participating clubs include Sign Language Club, Lulala Club, Chunhui Club, Torch Club, Children’s Welfare Association, Boys and Girls Scouts Group, Environmental Protection Club, Hai Tien Ching Club, A Volunteer Group for Superintending Diet, Philosophy Club, Kang Fu Club, Fuyi Club. Moreover, the Extracurricular Activities Guidance Section also invites TKU Resource Center for the Visually Handicapped, the Autism Society of Taipei Hsien, Bali Disabled Home, Taiwan Fund for Children and Families, World Vision Taiwan, Childhood Born Foundation of R. O. C, and other social service groups outside the campus to join this exhibition.

The opening ceremony will be held at tomorrow noon on Fu Yuan with the shows of both Cheerleading Association and Sign Language Club. On Wednesday noon, TKU Harmonica Club and Tamsui Elementary School Harmonica Club will hold a joint performance, and TKU’s Taekwondo Club and Tamsui Elementary School’s Taekwondo Club as well are going to perform in Fu Yuan on that day.

During this week, everyday from nine a.m. to eight p.m., there will be related book show accompanying the exhibition. This exhibition aims at displaying the achievement of these TKU social service clubs, such as these clubs’ profiles, the object of their social services, the documentary of their various activities, as well as a demonstration of the project on promoting and assisting the development of the student clubs in elementary and junior high schools. What is more, if you are interested in understanding the inconvenience in the life of a blind or invalid person, you are welcome to join a tour for experiencing the life of the invalids.

During the exhibition period, on one o’clock every afternoon there will be a documentary film showed in the Exhibition Hall of the Business Building, including “The First Family” (Tuesday), “the Voice of the Tribe” (Wednesday), “Life” (Thursday), and “the Taste of the Plum” (Friday).
