PHYSIQUE FEATS:

The 2006 UMC Cup Basketball Challenge, the nation’s second hottest college basketball championship, has started since October 3, and the second round games will be staged at Tamkang Student Activity Center on 7 P.M., October 24. The TKU team will stand up to Taiwan University team, hoping to win the chance for the final game.

This UMC Cup Basketball Challenge, with its 32 participant teams, is organized to take place respectively in four districts. In the first round game, TKU team beat a tight game with Soochow University team. TKU manager, Huang Yu-han, indicated that “the first game was very hard, but for the TKU teammates’ eagerness to fight for the chance to the final game, we finally made it.”

Presently, both TKU and Taiwan University achieve squarely with one win no lose; however, with 6 centimeters higher average height than the Taita team, TKU team has the upper hand. To reflect on the experience of last year, TKU team, which was graded as A2 level, beat the team of Taipei University of Technology, which was graded as A1. This year TKU confronts with Taita, a team of the same level A2 with TKU. Team leader, Chen Hsueh-wei, senior of Dept. of Electrical Engineering, remarks hopefully that “the game will be easier this year.” However, no team will take any breath away in any game, for the UMC Cup Basketball Challenge is regarded as the warm-up games for the National College Basketball Championship.

In addition to the basketball games, there are other highly-rewarding games open for the audience, such as the 100,000 NT “Flash 20 Seconds” shooting game, and the

10, 000 NT “UMC Quizzes” game. Welcome to cheer for our team and win your award.
