FOREIGNERS ATE RICE DUMPLINGS TO SHARE THE WARMTH IN LANTERN FESTIVAL

A Lantern Festival Feast was held by Office of International Exchanges and International Education for foreign students and exchange students last Thursday at noon. (Feb. 21st) The feast was hosted by Dr. Tai Wan-chin, Vice President for International Affairs. Beside Chinese cuisine and Western food, they also prepare many sweet dumplings to let foreign students experience the warm atmosphere of Chinese traditional festival. Foreign students are happy to eat the hot and sweet dumplings. Masahiko Erisa from Japan Kyushu, a junior of Chinese Department of TKU, said with smile, “Although I eat dumplings frequently, this is my first time to eat dumplings made of sweet rice. It is different from Japanese traditional dumplings. It tastes like Japanese rice cake-Mochi. It is very delicious!” ( ~Lin Wen-hua )
