Career Boat Week At TKU

【Reported by Ying-zhen Lu, Ya-xuan Ji, Tamsui Campus】The Office of Student Affairs held the Career Boat Week, which entailed lectures, resume building, simulated interviews and even internship assistance. On the 17th at noon, President Flora Chia-I Chang and Director of the Office of Student Affairs, Chih-en Ko, came to the campus plaza to officially send the Career Boat Week on it’s way. Come register for the career fair that will be held on the 25th in Student Activity Center at Hai Bao Street. The career fair will include HIWIN, Foxlink, UNIQLO, Din Tai Fung Restaurant and Taishin Financial Holdings.

On the 17th TKU invited Senior Consultant from Atellingent Global Consulting Corp., Sara Liu, to give a lecture titled, “From Campus to the Work Place.” There were 67 people in attendance and Sara Liu shared her abundant experiences working at Dell and Phillips. During her lecture she emphasized the importance of courage and the need to take risks in order to achieve success. Her story also encouraged students to develop their professional abilities, creativity and determination.

On the 20th TKU invited world traveler, Terry, to share his experience, which included films of his travels in Ukraine, Australia, New Zealand and Japan. He expressed the power of doing good deeds in different places. He discussed his time giving disaster relief in Japan and mentioned the lasting effect that a face without a smile can have. In the future Terry plans to continue his travels and give lectures around the world of his exciting journeys.
