CONCERTS, CARNIVALS AND VARIOUS ACTIVITIES TO CELEBRATE THE 60TH TKU ANNIVERSARY
The “Activities Committee” of the Preparation Commission for the 60th TKU Anniversary, led by Dean of Office of Student Affairs, Dr. Ko Chih-en, is to hold a series of celebrating activities from March 2010 to May 2011, such as logo design competition, celebration ceremony, concerts, carnivals, variety games, lecture series, and forums.

2010 TAN-HAI MUSIC FESTIVAL IMMERSED THE CAMPUS IN THE SOUND OF MUSIC
2010 Tan-hai Music Festival, a special event of TKU, took place from April 12 to 15. Co-held by 11 musical clubs of TKU, including Chinese Zither Club, Guitar Club, Classic Guitar Club, String-instrument Playing Social Club, Song and Lyric Writing Club, Piano Playing Club, Harmonica Club, Western Music Club, Chinese Music Club, Wind Ensemble Club, and Tamkang Chorus, the Music Festival immersed the campus in the sound of music.
E-LEARNING WORKSHOP HELD TO CULTIVATE TEACHERS’ ABILITY OF E-TEACHING
TKU STUDENTS AND TEACHERS SHINE IN DIGITAL GUIDANCE SYSTEM CONTEST
A total of 9 Tamkang University students won the first and second prizes in a “Contest of North Coast Scenic Spots Digital Guidance System Design” co-organized by TKU, the Axis 3D Technology, Inc., Aletheia University, St. John’s University and Taipei College of Maritime Technology. The top prize went to four junior students in the Department of Information and Communication, Jen Wei-chiang, Chen Ying-hui, Chang Hsin-chin and Yeh Chun-yin; while the second prize was taken by Lin Hsin-lan, Liu Mei-hung, Chuang Wei-ting, Yang Hui-i, and a senior student of the department Yen Ching-you. The two groups won prize money of NT$ 20,000 and NT$ 3,000, respectively. Dr. Lai Hui-ju of the department also won the Best Instructor Award in the contest.
CROSS-STRAIT EXCHANGES ON EUROPEAN STUDIES
CELEBRATE WORLD BOOK DAY WITH MARK TWAIN’S TOM SAWYER
TKU REPS JOIN CROSS-STRAIT FORUM ON DIGITAL PUBLISHING IN BEIJING
A cross-strait forum on digital publishing archives, co-organized by Department of Information and Library Science, TKU and College of Journalism and Communication, Peking University, was held at Beijing on April 4. Dr. Chiu Jeong-yeou, Dean of the College of Liberal Arts, and Dr. Lin Sinn-cheng, Chair of Dept. of the Information and Library Science, together with a total of 18 TKU teachers and students, took part in the academic exchange trip to China. The TKU group also visited the National Library of China, Museum of Graphic Communication and Tsinghua Tongfang Knowledge Network Technology Co., Ltd. in Beijing after the fourm.
