The Athletic Meets held on the 55th Anniversary Celebration produced two triple gold medalists, Wu Yan-rong, of the Department of Physics, and Liu Fu-yen, of the Department of Educational Technology. One of Wu’s gold, the women’s track, 1500m, was won after she had broken the previous record by 3 seconds faster. Yet, she believes she can do better next time. Let’s wait and see.
There were two other athletes, Kan Shun-ching, of the Department of Electro-mechanical Engineering and Liu Nan-sung of the Department of Information Management, winning two gold medals. Liu won in two of men’s track events, 100m and 200m, whereas Kan won his in men’s jumping events—the long jump and high jump.
Other gold medalists include Chen Po-chen of the Department of Electro-mechanical Engineering and Cheng Cun-xiao of the Department of Banking and Finance for men’s track events, 400m and 800m respectively. Wang Chi-xin of the Department of Electrical Engineering won a gold medal in men’s shot put and Liu Fu-yen won in women’s high jump, shot put and 800m. (~Ying-hsueh Hu )
