An Exhibition Celebrating Confucius Epigrams Is Being Held at Los Angeles

An Exhibition showing the Calligraphy of Mr. Shen Cheng, Mr. Chang Ping-huang and Prof. Ruan Chang-yao, the stone-cutting artist, is now being held at L.A., U.S.A.

Students from the Graduate Institutes of Money, Banking and Finance and International Business

Fourteen students from the Graduate Institute of Money, Banking and Finance and International Business led by Professors Lin Gin-chung. and Lin Jyh-horng visited Peking University and Southwestern University from l0 to l6, August. They were accompanied by Prof. Teng Yu-ying. Thanks to her assistance, their trip to China was made possible.

Dr. Chang’s Lecture on “The Growing Book” Received Warmly

In the 7th International Conference on Distributed Multimedia Systems, a lecture given by Dr. Chang Hsi-kuo, Department of Data Processing and Information, Pittsburgh University, has drawn a resounding applause from attending conferees. His topic “The Growing Book” is centered upon the development of the so-called Macro University; an unreal university, yet it does exist on the cyberspace. Through the mechanism of the Internet, 5 universities including Tamkang, Chiao Ta, Feng Chia, Aizu of Japan and Pittsburgh of U.S.A., despite their diversified cultural background, could be linked together; their faculty could work together by exchanging opinions and views on textbooks, and sharing each other’s resources. Students, however, are the big winners, because they are exposed to a wide range of curriculum on the Internet.

Many International Students Chose to Study at Tamkang University:

In a public hearing to explain the screening policy to interested students held at the Conference Room of Chung Ling Chemistry Building last Thursday on September 27, Dr. Feng Chao-kang, V.P. for Academic Affairs, concurrently Chairman of the International Exchange Committee, told the student audience there that the ongoing exchange program between T.K.U. and her sister schools is doing wonderfully well. The student population has jumped from the single digit number to 20’s and 30’s.

The Tamkang University’s Summer Camp for Training Young

The T.K.U.’s Summer Camp for Training Young Journalists was concluded successfully on September 23rd. Pres. Chang Horng-Jinh was present at the Opening ceremony. He had delivered personal advices to the students. He said that a good newspaper man/woman should know better not to be influenced by the biased standard of the newspaper he/she serves, and “fair-play” is the motto he/she should keep in mind. Dr. Flora C.I. Chang’s advice of “doing right things” and “doing things right” was at once witty and instructive, and many trainees of the Camp were benefited by her counseling advice.

Gays and Lesbians Will Soon See the Light in Their Hidden Closet at T.K.U.
