REITAKU HALL TO BE RECONSTRUCTED INTO A BUILDING FOR FOREIGN LANGUAGES

The school authorities have decided that the Reitaku Hall will be reconstructed into a building only for College of Foreign Languages and Literature, and Shao-Mo Stadium being planned will be reduced to a total dimension of 6,080 pings, about 20100 Square meter.

TEACHING SUPPORT PLATFORM IN GOOD TRIALS; PROTOTYPE TO BE COMPLETED IN MIDMARCH

A symposium on feedbacks after trying the new teaching support platform jointly sponsored by the Office of Academic Affairs (OAA) and the Information Processing Center (IPC) was held on Jan. 19, 2003. Assist. Prof. Su Shwu-yann of Department of Russian and Prof. Chang Sheng-hsiung of Department of Transportation Management have shared their experiences on using the teaching support platform with attendants in the symposium.

TKU TO ESTABLISH A FULL-TIME TEACHERS’ DATA BASE

Tamkang University (TKU) will establish an academic database for full-time teachers. The database will collect their teaching, research, service and other information, even offer the function of inquiry. The collection work is underway and the database is expected to be available in September 2003.

YU YING-CHANG, TU WEN-YU WIN FAR EAST ARCHITECTURE AWARD

Two alumni of Department of Architecture have once again won the Third Far East Architecture Award. Yu Ying-chang and Tu Wen-yu won a Special Award for “Digital Wright Falling Water Villa”. Their work was the only piece from Taiwan, which entered the final contest among the 108 works presented by 25 countries.

CFLL AND TK TIMES JOINTLY OFFER "ENGLISH COLUMN" AWARD

In order to make English more accessible to students, the College of Foreign Languages and Literature will cooperate with Tamkang Times (TK Times) to set up an English Special Column on the second page, starting from this week.

2003 TAIWAN AREA CULTURAL WEEK FORMALLY KICKS OFF

The 2003 Taiwan Area Cultural Week jointly sponsored by more than 10 Tamkang University (TKU) Alumni Associations in counties and cities around Taiwan formally kicked off on Tamsui campus on March 3, 2003. The exposition will not only introduce regional cultures but also their delicious food.
