REELECTION IN TAMKANG PEOPLE’S ASSOCIATION OF INFORMATION (TPAI)

TPAI's third meeting of directors and supervisors was held in this summer vacation, reelecting the president and standing directors. Fong Long-kong, the vice manager-in-chief of Ching-Yeh Technology Co., was elected the president, and alumni Huang Shi-lu from Taipei International Commercial Bank, Ray-Yang Information's Chen Shi-an, Wei-Tao Technology's Lee Shu-chung, Taiwan Ren-Keh's Chuang Ying-juin, Chen Po-yu, and TKU's Chair of Information Processing Center Huang Ming-da were elected standing directors.

In his address, Fong Long-kong expressed his gratitude to his seniors, and he would follow the ex-president Huang Ming-da's steps to encourage more alumni's participation in TPAI, to make possible more opportunities of exchange and provide more scholarship to school brothers and sisters. Fong Long-kong, graduating from Department of Electrical Computing in 1982, worked in his senior year as an intern of program designing at the company of Yang Chi-hung, once the Chair of Department of Electrical Computing, an experience that practiced the knowledge he acquired in class and laid the foundation of his later work at technology company.

TKU's alumni have excellent achievements in information industry; therefore, Chair of Information Processing Center Huang Ming-da initiated the cooperation of graduates from the Department of Computer Science and Information Engineering (originally Electrical Computing), Information Management, Management Sciences and Decision Making (graduate institute included) and those once working in the companies run by the teachers from the aforementioned departments or doing information-related business to establish TPAI in 2000. The Vice President of IBM in Asia-Pacific area Chien Da-chun, the President of Microsoft in Chinese region Huang Chun-yi, the Manager-in-Chief of Taiwan Ren-Keh's Chuang Ying-juin are all TPAI's members. TPAI's central principle is to promote the partnership among the members, offering scholarship to TKU's outstanding school brothers and sisters from economically disabled families and participating in charity activities helpful to information industry and the society.
