TAMKANG UNIVERSITY WON THREE GOLDEN PRIZES AND TWO FINE-WORK PRIZES IN TAMSHUI COMMUNITY ART CONTEST

Tamshui Community Art Contest, which welcomed everyone in Tamshui to take part in, was sponsored by Carrie Chang Fine Arts Center. A few days ago, the list of the winners was given out, and Tamkang University got fruitful results. Five persons including staff and students stood out from 1,000 participants and won three golden prizes and two fine-work prizes in total.

The winners are Wu Chun-chih (an assistant of Dept. of History, who won the golden prize of traditional Chinese painting), Lee Chung-jan (a senior of Dept. of Chinese, who won the golden prize of calligraphy), Wang Sheng-yuan (a senior of Dept. of International Business Management, who won the fine-work prize of photography), Huang Chien-hsiu (one staff member of Dept. of Educational Technology, who won the fine-work prize of photography), and Chen Jung-hsiang (a senior of Dept. of Information and Communication, who also won the fine-work prize of photography).

Wu Chun-chih, the golden-prizewinner of traditional Chinese painting, said, “I really feel very happy for getting the prize”. Wu indicated that she got in touch with traditional Chinese painting because of her joining the talent and skill class set up for school staff, and as she started learning it, she loved it immediately. In former times, she just participated in the exhibition for school anniversary. She never had the idea that she would get the prize for her first contest. As for Lee Chung-jan, who won the golden prize of calligraphy by clerical script “In Praise of Shih Men”, said that he had already learned clerical script for two years. Although it is his first time to join a contest, Lee said confidentially, “I knew that it would be no problem for me to win the fine-work prize. I just never thought that I would get the golden prize”.
