SEMINAR FOR TEACHING AND ADMINISTRATION INNOVATIONS TO TAKE PLACE THIS SATURDAY

A one-day seminar on the innovations of teaching and administration will take place at the Chueh-sheng International Conference Hall, Tamsui campus on Oct. 25. It will start at 9 a.m., chaired by President Dr. Chang Horng-jinh and supervised by Founder Dr. Clement C.P. Chang. Vice Presidents of Administrative Affairs and Academic Affairs and 200 plus upper-management staff from various offices in conjunction with teaching and administration including their directors/deans, deputy directors/deans, secretaries and professor representatives will join the seminar.

The theme of this seminar is “Tamkang stepping into the 4th wave”, which will be further divided into whitepaper and redpaper topics reported by 9 directors/deans on their specific issues. The morning program consists of several 15-minute reports on specific issues dealing with the two topics. The topic of the whitepaper addresses “The Four TKU Campuses of Tomorrow” under which the Vice President of Academic Affairs, Dr. Feng Chao-kang, will report on “How Will Tamsui Campus Navigate towards a Highly-reputed Academic Research-oriented University”; Han Yao-lung, the Dean of the College of Continuing Education will speak about “Taipei Campus—Present and Future of Continuing Education”; Tseng Chen-yuan, the director of Lanyang Campus, will deal with “The Strategy for the Future Development of Lanyang Campus”; and finally, Kuo Jing-hwa, the Chief of the Division of Distance Education will present “The First Period of Constructing a Cyber Campus—A World-class Foundation”.

The topic of the redpaper, on the other hand, addresses the “Deep Learning in a Digital Age”. Similarly, under this topic, Fu Hsi-jen, the Dean of the Office of Academic Affairs will focus on “Beyond the Virtual Classroom”; Kuo Jing-hwa, the Chief of the Division of Distance Education will hold a talk on “The Commoditization of Instruction”; Huang Ming-Da, the Director of the Information Processing Center will speak about “ Transforming Traditional Classrooms into Knowledge Workshops”; Huang hong-chu, the Director of Chueh Sheng Memorial Library will deal with “Building the Foundation of Deep Learning”; and Hu Yi-jen, the Dean of Educational Development Center, will present “The New Vision of Higher Education”. The afternoon program comprises a general discussion, chaired by the President, Dr. Chang Horng-jinh, which will further explore both whitepaper and redpaper topics.
