Carrie Chang Fine Arts Center, which was inaugurated on the 50th anniversary of TKU three years ago, will unveil the 2nd exhibition of its fine arts collection, on Friday, Nov. 7. The opening ceremony will be held amid a tea party at 2 p.m. on that day.
This center was founded in the name of Mrs. Carrie W.T. Chiang Chang, Chairperson of the Board of Trustees of TKU three years ago. On the anniversary of that year, the center had the first exhibition of its collection. This year, none of the collection for the 2003 exhibition has ever been on display before. They include works donated by various renowned artists. Among them, there are paintings by the well-known painter Gu Chong-guang, artist in residence at TKU. In addition, paintings by Chen Cheng-hsiung, Yang Hsing-sheng, Liu Geng-ku, Chung Yo-hui, Chen Yang-chun and Chinese paintings by Lu Kun-he, Dai Zi-chao, and Chinese calligraphy by Wang Bei-yue, Lee Wen-han and Lin Jin-chung will be also on display. There will be over 160 artists represented in total exhibiting works rendered in diverse media, such as oil paintings, water colors, pencil sketches, woodblock prints, tempera paintings, wash ink paintings, color wash ink paintings, calligraphy, pressed flowers and mixed-media work. With well over two hundred exhibits, these works will demonstrate the richness of the collection. All staff and students are cordially welcome to visit the exhibition, which will run until Dec. 20 this year.
