The opening tea party for the “Exhibition of Carrie Chang Fine Arts Center’s 2003 Collection” was held on Nov. 7, 2003, at the Carrie Chang Fine Arts Center. Founder Clement Chang, President Horng-jinh Chang, Vice President Chao-kang Feng and many artists attended the party to celebrate and appreciate the new collections of CCFAC. Founder Chang praised Mr. Chi-mao Lee, Director of CCFAC, for his resourcefulness in recruiting these works and in raising the artistic temperament of colleagues and students of TKU.
President Chang added that since the establishment of the center three years ago in 2000, many senior artists have highly praised the installations and exhibitions of the center, which is such good fortune for members of TKU. Mr. Chi-mao Lee remarked that CCFAC is an educational exhibition hall and all the contributing artists are consultants for this center.
Presently, the CCFAC collection contains more than 500 pieces. This exhibition shows 132 newly contributed works, including works by well-known artists, such as Liu Yu, Liu Ken-ku, Ku Chung-kwan, Liang Tan-pei, Lee Wen-hang, and Hwang Le-sheng. Some treasured works of artists, such as “The Ebbing Seashore,” painting by senior artist, Mr. Liu Yu, and the calligraphic couplet by Lee Wen-hang, have been contributed to the center in honor of Mr. Chi-mao Lee, a senior and internationally known artist himself. This exhibition will last until December 22, 2003.
