The new Student Assembly elected Yang Yu-teng, a junior in the Dept. of Management Sciences and Decision Making, as Speaker, and Lin Chia-chun, a freshman in the Dept. of Physics as Vice-Speaker on Dec. 23. Then, student Speaker Lin appointed Chen Yi-chi, a junior in the Dept. of Aerospace Engineering, as Secretary General. Yang Yu-teng pointed out that in order to channel the students’ opinions, he wanted to set up publicity and information boxes both in Business building and Student Association.
As to the most popular concern about campus security, Yang Yu-teng proposed to the Administration Office to set up more monitoring facilities. Service Center indicated that TKU has already set up various security monitors throughout Tamsui campus; however, the Office of General Affairs will consider students’ suggestions of new locations for more monitors. Concerning the chaotic management of Eggroll Plaza BBS, the new Speaker consulted with the host of TKU Club, Hsieh Chi-hua to take charge of the BBS and make it a real hub of information exchange for TKU students.
Vice-Speaker Lin Chia-chun committed himself to cooperate with the Speaker and to promote the industry and education partnership between TKU students and enterprises. Lin indicated that, as the partnership is presently limited within the College of Business, he would actively contact with enterprisers to establish more partnerships or job-finding symposiums for the other colleges.
