SYMPOSIUM OF THE INTERLIBRARY COOPERATION AND LIBRARIAN EXPERIENCE SHARING TO BE HELD ON THURSDAY

Sponsored by Minister of Education and TKU’s Information Processing Center and Department of Educational Technology, “Symposium of the Interlibrary Cooperation and Librarian Experience Sharing” will be hold at Chueh-sheng International Conference Hall this Thursday and Friday (Oct. 30-31). The topic of this symposium is “Library Collections and Marketing Events.”

The Minister of Education has appointed the Information Processing Center, TKU to build an Integrated Network Entrance for social educational institutions. By doing so the network can provide the following services—searching for recent events, learning resources integration, learning resources promotion, librarian education and training, and information technology consultation. The purposes for holding this symposium are not only in enhancing interlibrary cooperation and experience exchanging, but also in helping the librarians to understand the role of the integrated network in assisting each library with marketing and promotion. This symposium can be seen as a channel to give suggestions for further training courses. The participants in this symposium are mostly the staff members who are responsible for promoting the related affairs in the schools under the control of MOE.

The participants in the symposium will be divided into several groups for group discussion. During the final comprehensive discussion, every group will exchange their opinions and experiences with each other. Speakers of this symposium include Wu Kun-liang, Director of National Taitung Education Center, Chen Du-zheng, Director of National Taiwan Arts Education Center, Li Jia-wei, Director of the National Museum of Natural Science, and Huang Guang-nan, Director of the National Museum of History. They will share their experiences with the participants in the meeting.
