Chiu Jeong-yeou Associate Professor of Dept. of Information and Library Science and editor-in-chief of the Journal of Educational Media and Library Sciences (JoEMLS), cooperated with Airiti Digital Corporation to develop the Airiti online Submission and Peer Review System (ASPERS). Last Thursday (March 3), Prof. Chiu displayed this new system at Room 507, College of Liberal Arts, and he indicated that it will be tried out on JoEMLS first.

“In my opinion, Tamkang University is always brave to create. If we want to be a frontier, the earlier we begin, the more advantage we will have. I expect that JoEMLS will become one of the best journals in Taiwan, even in Asia,” Prof. Chiu said. Under such a great ambition, he and the Airiti Digital Corporation developed ASPERS together.

In order to establish rich-information database to benefit researchers, Prof. Chiu developed this system which can give complete records of works, authors, and reviews. The contributor can be the reviewer at the same time, and he can look up the entire outworking process online. The system can enlarge the source of contribution to a periodical from all over the world, making it more internationalized.

Prof. Chiu assumed that a journal can really achieve its auxiliary function if it is improved by using this system. Therefore, he considered this integrated platform as the educational platform of Taiwan. In order to forge an era of digital resources as well as electronic journals, and to better the academic publications in Taiwan, Tamkang University always endeavors to research and popularize new technique.
