The second council meeting of the fifth annual meeting of the Women Staff Council opened last Tuesday (March 8th) at Ching Sheng International Conference Hall amid some challenging quizzes on hottest gossips in Taiwan as well as serious international issues. These quizzes incited roars of laughter throughout the meeting as everyone did their best in finding the wittiest and smartest answers. Of course, the fact that winners could collect delightful awards (21 of them!) donated by Dr. Flora Chang certainly enhanced the heat of the competition and the fun of the game.

The fun did not stop the council to elect 9 new, council members for the coming year: Huang Hong-chu, the University Librarian, Wang Di-yue, the head of the Office of Admission Office, Chao Ya-ly, the Dean of the College of Liberal Arts, Sung Mei-hua, the Dean of college of the Foreign Languages and Literatures, Hu Yen-wei, the head of the Counseling Section, Chen Hwei-mei, the head of the Office of International Exchanges and International Education, Hsiao Shu-fen, a full-time professor of the Office of Physical Education, Hao Hui-lan, the secretary at the Carrie Chang Fine Arts Center, Huang Man-chin, a full-time professor at the Department of Business Administration. Three stand-by members are Ting Shao-fen, the head of the Non-book Material Section in the Library, Chang Hui-jun, the head of the Education Support Section and Lee Chiu-o, the head of the Maintenance Section.

Three supervising council members were also elected at this occasion: Chiu Ruey-ling the head of the Maritime Museum, Chen Jui-chih, a full-time professor at the Department of Accounting and Chu Chia-ying, a secretary at the Information Processing Center. Two stand-by members are Chiou Jwu-lin, a secretary at the Office of Student Affairs and Yang Chi-mei, a full time professor at the Office of Physical Education. (Ying-hsueh Hu)
