TKU’s Maritime Museum will turn 15 on June 6th and is celebrating it with a series activities, inviting TKU students, staffs and Tamsui residents for participation. These events are to be kicked off by a performance delivered by three street musicians at the museum and the outdoor cafe in front of the Architecture Department today (June 4th). The deck of the second floor of the museum is also open to visitors.
One of the musicians will arrive for another gig tomorrow morning at 9:30. Apart from this, there will be several interesting events organized for children. The first one is for kids between 4 and 7 years, who will be encouraged to describe what they see and what they think about the Maritime Museum, then draw them down on paper themselves or with the help of their parents. A further event is for children from 8 to 12 for live drawing. They can pick any theme they see at the museum and finish the painting in an hour. The last event is a treasure hunt as a team competition. Each team consists of 3 members, with 2 of them between 8 and 14 of age, together with one older member, be it a parent, relative, or sibling over 16 years old.
Whoever has the competitive spirit or would simply love to be there just for the fun can apply at the museum or at the township office of Chung Hsing Li in Tamsui. (~ Ying-hsueh Hu )
