President Chang Horng-jinh gave away more than 2000 copies of a newly published booklet entitled “Marching Toward the Fourth Wave of Tamkang University (A Summary)” to all full-time and part-time faculty members and staff. The booklet describes the fourth wave TKU will be in, in terms of its evolution as a higher educational institute once it starts recruiting students for its Lanyang Campus in 2005. In the letter enclosed with the booklet, he writes, “as we are standing in the forefront of our time, we are optimistic to the future and welcome any challenges in meeting our goals.”

Together with the booklet, President Chang also included the foreword written by Founder, Dr. Clement Chang, for the special publication commemorating TKU’s 50th anniversary: Sunset, Sunrise, and Love for Tamkang (It was published by Tamkang Times). Giving everyone a copy of the booklet and the foreword is a gesture President Chang sincerely hopes to build a consensus among all faculty and staff that we are ‘in it together’ as we prepare to march toward the ‘fourth wave’. Both publications lay out the history and future prospects so that everyone can see the clear vision drawn up by the Founder that by staying together we are capable of creating another glorious 50 years.
