To celebrate Tamkang’s 55th anniversary, delegations from 31 schools from five continents, composed of 18 presidents---17 of them are presidents of Tamkang’s sister universities---and other 70 guests, bring their warmest regards to Tamkang. Besides, a ceremony of signing the contract with sister university (with Kagoshima University, Japan, and Technological University of Panama) will be held at Ching Sheng International Conference Hall at 11:00 a.m. In addition to participating in celebration activities for Tamkang’s birthday, these guests will be received by President Chen Shui-bian and the Minister of Education Tu Cheng-sheng.

About 70 special guests from the sister universities in US, Japan, Korea, UK, Belgium, Costa Rica, Australia, Czech, Germany, and Panama come to celebrate Tamkang’s 55th anniversary and the opening of Lanyang Campus. Besides 18 university presidents, other 13 universities also send to Tamkang delegations of chairs of board of trustees, president’s couples, vice presidents, and the directors of office of international exchange.

Most of the guests from these sister universities arrived yesterday (November 4), with a four-day schedule in Taiwan: for today, they will attend the celebration ceremony and gather together for friendly exchange, and visit the National Palace Museum in the afternoon; tomorrow’s activities include visits to Lanyang Campus and the National Center for Traditional Arts; on the third and fourth day, guests will stay at Tamsui Campus for touring and exchanging gifts, and meet President Chen Shui-bian and the Minister of Education Du Cheng-cheng.
