CELEBRATING THE 56TH ANNIVERSARY AT TAMSUI AND LANYANG CAMPUSES:SPORTS EVENTS AND ARTS EXHIBITION

To celebrate the 56th anniversary of Tamkang University and the first anniversary of her Shao-mo Memorial Gymnasium and the recruitment of student in Lanyang campus, various sports events were held at Tamsui campus last Saturday, and a fine arts exhibition took place at Lanyang campus since November 4.

The anniversary ceremony was held on 3:30 p.m. at Shao-mo Memorial Gymnasium, with Tuan Hsiang-shu, Director of World Tamkang Alumni Association, who led oversea alumni from US to Alma Mater, making address. During the ceremony, seven alumni were awarded with “Tamkang Elite: the Golden Eagle Medals,” including Tien Chung-wang, Chen Shui-tien, Tu Ming-hang, Kuo Shang-hui, Lee Ta-ching, Lin Chih-hsue, and Chu Ching-peng. In addition, Thanksgiving Medals for donation or recruiting donation were given to those who contribute more than 300,000 NT dollars, including Ma Heng-ching, Clement Chang, Lin Wen-yuan, Shan Pao Construction Co., Chih Yao Construction Co., Pei Chang Construction Co., Hwang Hsiang Construction Co., Hang Ko International, Taiwan Taiyokogyo Inc, Apex International, Wang Wan-ching Foundation, Solomon Foundation, Tamkang Statistics Education Foundation, Lin Chin-tu, Chao Kang-chi, Wu Chia-lu Insurance and Culture Foundation, Lin Ken-chong, Ta Hsin Bookstore, Lin Tong-yen Engineering Consultant, Kuo Chien-chong, Japan Overseas Chinese Business Association, Kao Ching-sheng, Land Holder Trading Co., Chen Wu-tong, Cheng Hua Investment Co.. Those 25 donors were respectively acknowledged by MOE and Tamkang University. In addition, 18 recruiters were respectively awarded with a crystal medal.

The Welcoming Tea Party for the alumni, hosted by President C. I. Chang, was held on 1 p.m., at Student Activities Center. The welcoming activities were organized by Alumni Services and Resources Center, with the performances of several student clubs, such as Hot Dance, Dance Studies, and Standard Dance club. There was also lottery activity with more than 30 prizes for the lucky alumni. After the tea party, every one of the alumni was received to his or her respective graduating department for touring or other activities.

In addition to local alumni, Tuan Hsiang-shu, Director of World Tamkang Alumni Association, with his wife, Tai Ching-yung, Director of South California Tamkang Alumni Association, and Lin Wen-shung, Director of North California Tamkang Alumni Association, joined together to celebrate the school anniversary.
