Office of Teaching Excellence Projects of Tamkang University will reward students who pass English ability examination outside the school. Since August 1st 2007, students who achieve the target grades of the English proficiency test can apply for the prize. The highest bonus is 5000 NT dollars. Dr Kan-nan Chen, Vice President for Academic Affairs points out, “No matter you study in which department, English is very important for all of you. It is not only the communicational tool but also the good condition to obtain employment. Therefore, I expect such a prize to motivate students to improve their English ability.”
The grade category of the prize is divided into four levels, with corresponding bonus of NT 5000, 3000, 1500, and 500 dollars. The variety of English proficiency test includes CEPT, TOEIC, NEW-TOEFL, and IELTS. The application is limited in one level. The application form can be downloaded from the website of Teaching Excellence Projects (http://excel-lent.tju.edu.tw). In addition to the form, the applicant has to will bring the copy of student ID, the copy of English grade sheet, and the copy of bankbook to Office of Teaching Excellence Projects before May 26.
