2008 SEMINAR ON CROSS-STRAIT BILATERAL ECONOMICS RELATIONS

2008 Seminar on cross-strait bilateral economics relations will kick off on 9 a.m. October 1, at Chueh-Sheng International Conference. The seminar will be presided by Tamkang President C. I. Chang, who will also give a opening address. Dr. Wei Wou, Professor of the Graduate Institute of International Affairs and Strategic Studies will give a keynote speech during the seminar on “The Significance China’s Economic Development to the World.”

The themes of the seminar include “Economic System and Government Functions,” “Insurance, Proficiency and Social Network,” and “Economic Growth and Cases Study.” Professors from the School of Economics at China’s Southwestern University of Finance and Economics and Tamkang’s Department of Economics will present a total number of 13 papers during the seminar. “The professors from two sides of the Taiwan Strait have frequently exchange their views for the past years, which has contributed a great deal to the academic development in the field of economics,” said Dr. Chuang Shi-feng, Chair of TKU’s Department of Economics, “hopefully such close bilateral exchanges can bring more and more fruitful results.” ( ~Yeh Yun-kai )
