Invited by the NSC and arranged by the Queensland Trade Office in Taipei, world renowned futurologist Ian Lowe gave a lecture on “Creating the Sustainable Feature” which has highly positive feedbacks. Queensland Trade Office Director Elizabeth Sullivan wrote to thank TKU, and highly praised the world well-known reputation of TKU’s Graduate Institute of Future Studies. She also mentioned that Ian Lowe was really happy to have given the lecture at TKU, especially his discussions with the graduate students during and after the lecture.
Ian Lowe was deeply impressed by the active participation and the deep questions by the TKU graduate students, and he highly praised TKU’s endeavors in educating students. He was also deeply impressed by the enthusiasm of the faculty and the good planning of conferences by the Institute. The Institute Director Jui-guey Chen said, “Dr, Lowe has had a very good impression on our Institute, and we should give full credit to TKU Founder Clement C. P. Chang whose full support has made the Institute the only one that has the most complete organization and widest scope of futurology studies in Taiwan. The strength of the Institute also unfolds in the World Futurology Annual Conference every year. This year TKU will have 3 students attend it, and this will help to promote TKU’s reputation in the academic world.” Director Chen confidently continued, “I hope to arrange more lectures, workshops and international conference in the future and invite Dr. Ian Lowe again to exchange his ideas with our students face to face!” ( ~Dean X.
