On behalf of TKU, English senior Yu-hui Wang took part in the National Lincoln Gettysburg Speech Recital Contest by The Lincoln Society Taipei and won the 3rd prize of NT$2000 by beating Tsing Hua University, Suchow University, etc. She also got a certificate.
Six universities participated in the contest. She happily said, “It’s a very important exercise to memorize the whole speech, understand the historical figure and background, adjust the mood display and have self-confidence. I am grateful to Teacher Albert Chen for his encouragement and instructional help. English Assistant Professor Albert Chen said, “Compared to her highly spirited performance last year, Yu-hui could manage the speech more freely with an esthetic sense of rhythms this year.” ( ~Dean X.
