AOYAMA GAKUIN UNIVERSITY SETS UP REPRESENTATIVE OFFICE IN TAIWAN

A group of six from Tamkang University’s sister school in Aoyama Gakuin University, Japan, led by President Sadayoshi Ito, arrived at Tamkang’s Taipei Campus on September 21 to hold the inauguration for the Japanese university’s Taiwan representative office. The ceremony was held at three p.m. on Taipei campus’s fifth floor, the Alumni Hall. TKU President Flora Chia-I Chang was also present at the ceremony to congratulate the opening of the Aoyama Gakuin University’s Taipei office, while express the hope that the office will further help to boast the bilateral tie.

TKU signed Sister University Agreements with Aoyama Gakuin University at 2002. In the year 2005 and 2006, the TKU university had dispatched delegations twice to Aoyama Gakuin University in Japan for exchanges. Since summer 2007, students from Aoyama begin to participate the Chinese learning summer camps in TKU. The representative office will facilitate the further bilateral exchanges. ( ~ Yeh Yun-kai )
