The annual Gettysburg Address Reciting Contest organized by the English Department is opened for application starting from today until March 29. The contest will be held at Ching-sheng International Conference Hall on 0630 p.m. April 1. The annual event runs to its 25th year in 2010. The contest is open for students in undergraduate and in the school of Professional and Continuing Studies. The time limit for recitation is three minute. Some of the standards for grading include articulation, expression, completeness of the recitation, and posture. The top five winners of the contest will be given certificates and award money. The sum of prize money from No. 1 winner to the fifth are NT$ 3000, NT$ 2000, NT$ 1800, NT$ 1500, NT$ 1200.
The top winner of the contest will be representing TKU to join a national Gettysburg Address Reciting Contest organized by the Lincoln Society Taipei.
