French Pastry and Movies

On the 9th of December, a group of lucky Tamkang teachers and students took part in a French food-tasting activity. For the event, the owner of Taiwan’s renowned French pastry franchise La Douceur prepared hand-made French pastry and herbal tea to gift the group of 55 students and faculty an unforgettable French-style afternoon.

Pastries prepared included lemon cream tarts, rich chocolate tarts, Canele (a southern France delicacy), and macaroons. Department of French fourth year student, Zhang Hui-fen, said that “the lemon cream tarts were my favorite. They are, after all, much more difficult to find in Taiwan than, say, macaroons.”

On the evenings of the 8th, 9th, and 10th of December, the French Department also held the 2010 European Film Festival. Films will continue to be screened until the 22nd of December. All TKU students are welcome to join in the fun every evening at 6:30pm.
