How to Handle Personal Details

From May 13, a number of classes have been held to teach TKU faculty and staff how best to handle personal details. The classes have been held to coincide with new laws governing the protection of personal details. As part of the training program, on May 21 and 25 two special classes were held by Deloitte and Touch project manager and former TKU alumnus, Tseng Yao-de. The classes were called “Personal Detail Protection” and were attended by over 300 TKU faculty and staff members.

Amendments to regulations on personal detail protection include: expanding the range of people protected under such laws; removing restrictions on protection based on one’s field of employment; distinguishing between “general personal details” and “special personal details”, and others.

The courses will be an ongoing fixture throughout 2012. Tseng Yao-de explained that in June, July and August, follow-up classes will be held on a variety of topics, including risk evaluation and the establishment of effective processes for management.
