On the evening of the 23rd (May), the restaurant on the first level of the Clement C.P. Chang Memorial Building, Lanyang Campus, was the setting for a touching farewell ceremony. This was not a graduation dinner. It was, in fact, a way of saying goodbye to third year Lanyang students who will soon be going overseas as part of Lanyang Campus’ unique Junior Youth Abroad Program. Apart from fellow students, the party was also attended by the Chairman of the TKU Department of Banking and Finance, Dr. Chu Liou; the Chairman of the Department of International Tourism Management, Dr. Chien Mu Yeh, and the Chairman of the Department of Global Political Economy, Dr. Cheng Chin-mo.
The event featured amusing performances staged by TKU clubs such as the Street Dance Club, the Ballroom Dancing Club, and the Rock n’ Roll Club. It finished with touching farewell videos prepared by each of the TKU Lanyang departments.
Lanyang will also be holding a graduation party on the evening of Friday 1st June. Lanyang Commencement will be held on June 2 and will be based on the theme “Tamkang’s three circles and five disciplines of education; allowing alumni to reach for the sky”.
