Public Service Center of Tamkang University (TKU) which will sponsor five overseas study tours in summer vacation has decided to cancel all the planned tours due to SARS after considering the safety of participants.

PSC will return the tuition paid and data collected to the participants.

University of California at Berkeley announced on May 5 that students from China, Hong Kong and Taiwan were not permitted to attend the university’s summer courses. Therefore, PSC was forced to stop the U.S. study tours. Although UC Berkeley revoked the prohibition on May 7 after receiving strong protests at home and from Asia, PSC has still decided not to sponsor the tours.
