In order to promote globalization, 26 courses totaling 66 credits will be commanded in English from this semester. Twenty-six courses, including eight in undergraduate and 18 in graduate institutes will be offered.
Due to the fact that TKU attracts quite a few foreign students under the International Student Exchange Program, courses commanded in English are increasing, offering various options. In addition to taking courses in English in undergraduate division, courses of the graduate institutes in Master’s program conducted in English are also available for foreign students. According to the Office of International Exchange and International Education (OIEIE), offering the courses in graduate institutes benefit foreign students by taking courses they are interested in besides merely Chinese language training.
Among the 26 courses to be commanded in English, Colleges of Foreign Languages and Literature and International Studies occupied for more than a half. Of which all the courses in the Graduate Institute of American Studies have almost been commanded in English. In general courses, Prof. Reinhard Dubel and Assistant Prof. Stefan Bucher of College of Foreign Languages and Literature offer courses of “Current Events and History” and “Inter- Cultural Communications” in English.
