A Major Conference to be Held at Tamkang

On May 17 & 18, a large international conference will be held at the Chueh Sheng International Conference Center, Tamsui Campus. Organized by the TKU Department of Educational Technology, the 2013 International Conference on E-Learning Trends for 21st Century Learning Technology will feature opening remarks from the President of TKU, Dr. Flora Chia-I Chang, and will draw over 200 scholars from several countries including Taiwan, America, Singapore, and Canada. The Conference will explore the following topics: mobile learning technology, social interaction apps, and applying IT to instruction, among others.

Among the scheduled items for the conference are numerous keynote speeches delivered by distinguished guests, such as Dr. Brian Beatty (San Francisco State University), who will talk on the topic “Living on the perpetual bridge: connecting yesterday to tomorrow with today's educational technology”; Dr. Seng Chee Tan (Nanyang Technological University, Singapore), who will discuss “E-learning in the knowledge creation paradigm: Changes in cultural beliefs and practices”; Dr. Maiga Chang (Athabasca University, Canada), who will investigate “Context-aware Inquiry-based Mobile Game-based Learning Models and Personalized Activities Generation”; and Dr. Piet Kommers, who will explore “ICT as a Creative Factor in Renewed Education”.
