156 JUNIORS ON THEIR WAY TO STUDY ABROAD FOR THE 2002-2003 ACADEMIC YEAR

Dr. Clement C.P. Chang, Founder of Tamkang University, will attend a flag-presentation ceremony for 156 juniors who will join the student exchange programs existing between TKU and her sister universities around the world on Aug. 17, on Taipei Campus.

A total of 156 juniors are scheduled to leave Taiwan around mid-August to late September 2002 respectively, for a whole year study in 11 universities which maintained sister ties with TKU in six countries around the world.

Dr. Chang Horng-jinh, President of TKU, will officiate at the flag-presentation ceremony at 2:30 pm, August 17 on Taipei Campus. The ceremony will also be witnessed by a group of well-wishers, including Lin Yao-fu, Dean of the College of Foreign Languages and Literatures, Ken Todoriki, Director of the Cultural Affair Division, Japan's Interchange Association Taipei Office; David Okano, project manager of the Canadian Trade Office in Taipei; Georgii Zynoviev, Deputy Representative of Moscow-Taipei Economic and Cultural Coordination Commission, Representative Office in Taipei; Morris Huang, Cultural Specialist of the American Culture Center in Taipei; professors and parents.

Among 38 juniors selected by English Department, nine will go to Brandon University, Canada. Fifteen and fourteen will take part in the program of Indiana University, Pennsylvania and Winona State University, Minnesota, respectively. In addition, four juniors among the 38 come from Departments of French, Economics, Management Science, and International Trade.

Eighteen juniors from Spanish Department will go to Navarra University, Spain. Fifteen from French Department will attend the program of the Franche-comte University, France. Thirty juniors from Japanese Department will study at the Reitaku University. Five will go to Josai University, and another five to Josai International University. Other 10 from the same department will participate in the program held at Kyoto Tachibana Josai Women's University.

Meanwhile, 20 juniors from German Department will attend the course at the Bonn University and 15 juniors selected by the Department of Russian will go to St. Petersburg State University in Russia.
