A special graduation project prepared by Lai Hwei-chiu, Hsieh Hsien, Chen Wei-hong and Chang Ya-fong (Seniors, Educational Technology) has caught the eye of Taipei Veterans Hospital, and they are planning to publish it as a publicity brochure to be used solely for educating women in pregnancy. If everything goes well, it will be presented non-simultaneously as teaching material on the network.
Students who had participated in this graduation project said that the handbook is the teaching material intended for pregnant women as its target audience. It starts from the initial stage when the woman’s conceived news is announced until her confinement day. All the technical know-how, including her daily routine, physical mutations, etc., is carefully and scrupulously noted. Another interesting feature of the handbook is that it was compiled on weekly basis, and a conceived woman can use it as she advances more deeply into her parturition day.
As Miss Lai Hwei-chiu told us, their inspiration came from their advisor Prof. Tsai Ping-yue’s suggestion. Because when his wife was carrying their baby, they couldn’t find a suitable medical reading material to use as guidance to deal with the problems they met.
Another student Hsieh Hsien indicated that he was surprised that they’ve accomplished more than they started with. Still another student, Chen Hung-wei said that they owed a lot to Miss Su Li-hwa, a nurse from National Taiwan University Hospital, without whose unselfish assistance, all their efforts would be just a pipe dream.
