【Yin-xun Liao, Xin-yu Wang, Zhi-yue Jiang, Kai-jun Lin, Li-quan Zhang, Huan Du, Tamsui Campus Report】The 4th Annual Departmental Development Award list is under review consisting of the Departments of Civil Engineering, Chemistry, Banking and Finance, Aerospace Engineering, Statistics, Accounting, Electrical and Computer Engineering, Information Engineering and Mechanical and Electromechanical Engineering. The Departmental Development Award has been in place since the 67th administrative meeting that took place in 2012. Every year in March, related groups put forth academic data to be evaluated in accordance to the standards of the Ministry of Education and then a list of departments is selected for nomination.

For this event, all of the departments have been evaluated on their specialities. Director of the Department of Finance and Banking, Ming-chih Lee, has emphasized internships to expand the mindset and perception of students. He expressed that this method will also allow students to get a smooth start on to their career path. Director of the Department of Accounting, Jyh-jiuan Lin, described that his department has adopted a total management and administrative system that uses big data, research and academic-industry programs for effective student development. Director of the Department of Accounting, Sin-hui Yen, combined a practical curriculum with emphasis on effective study skills to strengthen the student’s learning potential. On May 26 at 1pm the 9 departments will give a briefing of their departments achievements. All faculty is invited to attend.
