A baseball team led by coach Ooshima Yushihara will hold a friendship tournament with the baseball team of TKU at Hsin Chuang Baseball Field. The date is set on Feb. 26, the time is from 1:30 to 5:00 P.M.

Heisei International University has enjoyed a long- term relationship with Tamkang. For instance, Pres. Sato Aeitarou had given a bronze sculpture entitled “The Traveler” to us. It is now being displayed in Carrie Chang Fine Arts Center.

As coach Mr. Wang Yi-pong of TKU baseball team mentioned, “The Heisei baseball team is a highly competitive team, and has often been rated among the 10 best college teams in Japan. It claims that they own a pitcher who can throw a straight ball with a speed of 148 km per hour. The Nippon professional baseball teams often came to pick up their sports stars from Heisei. So, everything considered, there is a tremendous gap in terms of skill and expertise between guest and host teams, but as a baseball player, we shall look forward to the upcoming event with just as much interest and zest, because we shall regard it as a learning experience, as Mr. Chang Chia-ming, Deputy team leader, told us.

The Heisei International University baseball team will meet with Taipei Physical Education College and Chinese Culture University on Wednesday and Thursday respectively. They have also scheduled to visit TKU on March 1, and are planning to return to Japan on March 2.
