Prof. Takaaki Kodama, Chairperson, Board of Trustees, Chuo Gakuin University, Japan, came on December 10 to visit us and went strait to the 9th floor of Chueh Sheng Memorial Library. Their (including Mrs. Kodama) purpose was one: to personally extend their invitation to Dr. Clement C.P. Chang, Founder of TKU, to be their guest of honor when they celebrate their centennial anniversary on October 5, 2002. Chuo Gakuin University is one of TKU’s sister schools.
Also accompanied Dr. Takaaki Kodama are Mr. Isamu Ogawa, Member of the Board of Trustees and Mr. Masakazu Terashima, Director, Department of Planning, Chuo Gakuin University.
Dr. Kodama said that he was impressed with the magnitude of the TKU campus, especially College of Education, which he described as uniquely special. He hoped that in the future their university may dispatch some students to further their studies here at Tamkang U.
Two of their students at present studying in TKU were also present during their Chairperson’s visit. And Dr. Feng Chao-kang, V.P. for Academic Affairs, TKU, had presented to the delegation a CD ROM detailing TKU students’ activities when they were visiting Chuo Gakuin last month.
