TKU GRADUATES ARE ENTERPRISES’ MOST FAVORITE: POLL

Tamkang University (TKU) graduates are enterprises’ most favorite and ranked first among all private universities around the nation, according to the results released by a survey conducted by the “Cheers” magazine, the Common Wealth Group, on April 10, 2003.

MOE APPROVES THREE BASIC SCIENCE PROJECTS SUBMITTED BY TKU: COLLEGE OF SCIENCES OBTAINS NT$5 MILLION

The Ministry of Education (MOE) has approved the “Basic Science Cross-area Teaching Improvement Projects for the 2003 academic year submitted by three departments of College of Sciences, Tamkang University. TKU will obtain nearly NT$5 million of subsidies for four consecutive years.

FLORA C.I. CHANG FORMALLY PROMOTED TO PROFESSOR EFFECTIVE FEB. 1, 2003

Dr. Flora C. I. Chang, Vice President for Administrative Affairs along with three others have been formally promoted to the rank of professorship after obtaining approval of the Ministry of Education (MOE) effective on Feb. 1, 2003.

DEPARTMENT OF FRENCH MAKES PREPARATION FOR FOREIGN LANGUAGE EVALUATION EXAMINATION

Department of French held a seminar on teaching evaluation on April 10-11, 2003 with the departmental faculty and students of the Graduate Institute of French to make preparation for foreign language evaluation of the would-be graduates proposed by College of Foreign Languages and Literature (CFLL) effective from next academic year, 2004.

CFLL TO SET UP AN ORAL COMMUNICATION AND PRESENTATION CLASSROOM: TKU PRESIDENT INSTRUCTS TO MAKE PLA

Tamkang University (TKU) President Dr. Chang Horng-jinh has made an instruction to Colleges of Foreign Languages and Literature (CFLL), Liberal Arts (COLA), Business (COB), Management (COM), and Education (COE) that consideration should be placed on the overall and integral function in teaching equipment to meet the teaching demand and vitalize the departments and graduate institutes while budgeting the expenses for purchasing instruments and equipment.

PSC HOLDS A 4-DAY OVERSEAS STUDY TOUR EXHIBITION

The Public Services Center (PSC) will hold a four-day exhibition of overseas study tour exhibition at the exhibition hall of Business Management Building, Tamsui Campus on April 22 –25, providing information of study tours in various countries.

STUDENT COUNCIL AND MEMBERS OF COUNCIL ELECTION WILL BE HELD ON MAY 13-14

The election for President and Vice President of the Ninth Student Council and members of the Council will be held on May 13-14. The enrollment will begin from April 22.
