65 % OF FACULTY AND STUDENTS ARE DISSATISFIED WITH STUDENTS ‘IMPETU OF STUDY’: POLL

A great majority of faculty, staff members and students were generally satisfied with the objective of school, campus administration, library, use of computers and administrative teaching support, according to the result of a survey conducted and released by the Educational Development Center (EDC) recently.

ENROLLMENT RATE FOR APPLICATION ADMISSION SETS RECORD LOW

A total of 37,365 applicants have applied for the undergraduate’s admission of the 2003 academic year with 680 applicants approved, setting a low record of the enrollment rate, the Office of Academic Affairs (OAA) announced today.

A total of 498 scholars have applied for faculty openings of Tamkang University (TKU) for the 2003 academic year, which is 24 less than last year.

SEVERAL ACADEMIC EXCHANGE PROGRAMS HALTED DUE TO SARS

Due to the “Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS) further spreading, Tamkang University (TKU) has reiterated that TKU will do its best to prevent offshore epidemic disease from entering Taiwan and has stopped all faculty members to travel to epidemic- danger areas such as Mainland China, Hong Kong, Vietnam and Singapore for academic exchanges, effective immediately.

PROGRAM OF FUTURES STUDIES TO ENROLL STUDENTS

The program of futures studies will begin the fourth enrollment of students. Those academic results in freshmen and sophomore year must be over 70 points or academic result of futurology in core curriculums is over 80 points are qualified for application. The total number of enrollment will be set at 30.
