BRITISH UNIVERSITY ASSOCIATION PRESIDENT RODERICK FLOUD VISITS TKU

Dr. Roderick Floud, President of the British University Association (BUA), accompanied by his wife and Lin Yi-wen, secretary at the International Cultural and Educational Department, Ministry of Education, arrived at Tamsui Campus on May 25 for a whirlwind visit.

Dr. Chang Horng-jinh, President of Tamkang University (TKU) extended his warm welcome to Dr. Floud and his wife on behalf of TKU.

“It’s a very beautiful campus,” so said Dr. and Mrs. Floud upon arriving on Tamsui Campus.

TKU President Dr. Chang Horng-jinh officiated at a briefing and symposium at Ching-sheng International Conference Hall. Dr. Feng Chao-kang, Vice President for Academic Affairs; Dean of Colleges and Lily H. M. Chen, Director of International Exchange and International Education (IEIE) were at present.

IEIE Director Chen briefed Dr. Floud on the international exchange program currently carried out by TKU while mentioning that TKU has still not yet had official student exchange program with British universities. Dr. Roderick Floud said that he welcomes such an exchange and he is glad to see that the exchange would come true very soon.

Dr. and Mrs. Floud highly lauded for TKU’s modernization and humanity installations and were deeply impressed by campus’ beautiful scene after toured Carrie Chang Fine Arts Center and Chueh-sheng Memorial Library.

Dr. and Mrs. Floud who visited Taiwan for the first time will stay in Taiwan for a weeklong visit. In addition to TKU, they will also visit National Chengchi University, National Central University, National Taipei University of Science and Technology. TKU was the only private university he visited during his six-day stay in Taiwan.
