The Maritime Museum of Tamkang University (TKU) has been chosen as excellent quality of museum in Taiwan in parallel with National Palace Museum and National Museum of History.
The Maritime Museum of TKU is a unique museum in Taiwan to introduce the issues related to the maritime affairs.
Under the guidance of the Ministry of Education (MOE), an on-line voting activity was co-sponsored by Mingdao Senior High School in Taichung City and Kuangchuang Cultural and Educational Foundation (KCCEF). TKU Maritime Museum won the honor through the accumulation of vote by vote on network.
More than half million of visitors have visited the Maritime Museum since it was founded in 1980. Hsieh Sung-lin, a six-grade pupil of Daan Elementary School in Taipei who visited the Maritime Museum last Friday, said: “It’s quite amazing to collect so many ships ranging from the ancient to the contemporaries, from the West to the East”.
KCCEF has already made the 50 excellent qualities of museums chosen into an online intellectual game card. Those who are interested in can log on http//www.mingdao.edu.tw for the game card.
