ACTIVITIES OF WIND ENGINEERING WEEK AT MAIN ENGINEERING BUILDING
Students rushed on to experience wind tunnel test. The strong wind made them hardly stand, which they thought was a new and fun experience.

Wind Engineering Research Center (WERC) held exhibition for Wind Engineering Week at the hall of Main Engineering Building from May 20 to 23, attracting many students and teachers to visit. Dr. Flora C.I. Chang, President of TKU, indicated in the opening ceremony that she gave high appreciation to WERC for she could see new achievements from their exhibitions every time. She also suggested that WERC could hold the event at Black Swan Exhibition Hall next time, so that more people could understand more about their works.

COLLEGE OF MANAGEMENT SHOWED ITS LIVELY ENERGY ON ACADEMIC RESEARCHES IN MAY

College of Management showed its lively energy on academic researches with series of conferences held respectively by Dept. of Business Administration, Dept. of Statistics, and Graduate Institute of Management Sciences in May. Each one attracted more than a hundred people to attend.

THREE STUDENTS WILL REPRESENT TKU TO JOIN 2009 WORLD FUTURE SOCEITY ANNUAL CONFERENCE IN JULY

The result of the selection over the student participants in 2009 World Future Society (WFS) annual conference has been announced, and three students including Chen Mu-hsuan, a junior of Dept. of Public Administration, Hsieh I-tai, a junior of Dept. of Computer Science and Information Engineering, and Huang Wei-hao, a first-year Master student of Graduate Institute of Future Studies, will represent TKU to join the conference at Chicago, America, from July 17 to 19.

THE WEEK OF CIVIL ENGINEERING: A FRESH EXPERIENCE
The cement-brick pushing game was quite popular among students.

The Week of Civil Engineering, held by the association of Dept. of Civil Engineering for the first time, took place at the hall of Main Engineering Building from May 18 to 22. Hsiao Pang-chun, a junior of Dept. of Civil Engineering and the vice-president of the association, indicated that there were the exhibition, the speeches, and some little games during the Week. “I hope that we can advertise the features of our department through this event,” said Hsiao. “Participants can experience the professional work that we do, such as designing and mechanics analysis via the exhibition and the games.”

THE WEEK OF PUBLIC ADMINISTRATION: GIVING LOVE TO THE SOCIETY

The Week of Public Administration, held by Dept. of Public Administration, took place from May 18 to 22. Apart from many people lined up to play a series of games, there was also a charity buzzard at Poster Street where many beautiful clothes and colorful handicrafts were sold, which caused a shopping rush among girls.

FOREIGN LANGUAGES WEEK BRINGS STUDENTS A MAGICAL JOURNEY
Foreign Languages week brings students a magical journey.

With the Japanese traditional dance by Yamato nadeshiko, the romance in Manhattan, the beauty of Champs Elysees Avenue, the folk love songs from Russia, and the Flamenco dance by Spanish girls, the Foreign Languages Week this year will without doubt leave beautiful and unforgettable memories to you.

BLOOD DONATION EVENT ATTRACTED SIX HUNDRED PARTICIPANTS
Huang Wen-chih, the advisor of TKU’s Boy-Scouts Club, urged TKU students to participate in blood donation.

A blood donation event organized by Boy-Scouts Club was held for three consecutive days from May 19 to 21, attracting more than 629 blood donors and managed to hit the target of 748 bags of blood, which equals to 187,000 c.c. blood.

NEW FEMALE DORMITORY TO OPEN NEXT SEMESTER
Female students are seen trying on the new beds that will be installed in the dormitory next semester.

To redecorate the old female dormitory, Tamkang University officials decided to replace the beds in the dorm with new ones. The new beds were chosen by the dwellers of the female dorm in a ballot, in which a land sliding 62.96 % votes go to Bed “A.” The new beds are expected to be installed next semester.

2009 JOB FAIR AND PRACTICAL TRAINING PROJECT ATTRACTED MORE THAN 800 STUDENTS
Thousands of TKU graduates returned to Tamsui campus for the 2009 Job Fair

Organized by the Office of Alumni Service and Resources Development, the “2009 Job Fair and Practical Training Project,” was held at Tamkang University’s Poster Street on May 18. A total of 260 local enterprises, including famous technology company Sunplus Technology Co., Ltd, and Compal Electronics, participated the Job Fair, offering a number of 667 jobs to TKU students.

TKU FOUNDER DR. CLEMENT CHANG AWARDED TKU STAFFS WITH NT$ 50,000 FOR WINNING NATIONAL QUALITY AWARD
Tamkang University founder Dr. Clement Chang gave a NT$ 50,000 prize to the team members, for winning the National Quality Award.

To express gratitude to the joint effort made by the Tamkang University staffs on the successful application of National Quality Award, TKU founder Dr. Clement Chang gave a NT$ 50,000 prize to the team members responsible for the application of the award during a ad hoc conference on the preparation of upcoming TKU 60th anniversary held at the Chueh-sheng International Conference Hall on May 20.
