2010 JOB FAIR LAUNCHED ON MARCH 25: 30000 VACANCIES

The yearly Job Fair, organized by Career Planning and Placement Section, Office of Student Affairs, was launched on March 25 at Poster Street and Student Activity Center. 30,000 job vacancies are waiting for the suitable applicants. Dr. C. I. Chang, President of TKU hosted the curtain-cutting ceremony, initiating with dragon and lion dance show.

TKU’S FOREIGN STUDENT FROM BURKINA FASO REPRESENTS ASIAN UNIVERSITY TO ATTEND “HARAMBE BRETTON WOODS SYMPOSIUM”

Song Ta-min, an foreign student from Burkina Faso, and sophomore of Dept. of International Trade, has passed the application and will go to US in April to attend the “Harambe Bretton Woods Symposium,” organized by The Harambe Endeavor. He is the only representative from Asian universities to the Harvard University forum.

VICE PRESIDENTS OF WINONA STATE UNIVERSITY AND REITAKU UNIVERSITY VISITED TKU ON MAR. 12 AND 17 RESPECTIVELY

Prof. Kenneth L. Gorman, the Vice President of Winona State University, one of our sister universities in the U.S., and Dr. Masanori Satoh, the Vice President of Reitaku University (RU), one of our Japanese sister universities, visited TKU on Mar. 12 and 17 respectively, changing opinions toward the learning situation of exchange students and their adaptation to the new environment.

TKU GETTYSBURG ADDRESS RECITING CONTEST OPENS FOR APPLICATION

The annual Gettysburg Address Reciting Contest organized by the English Department is opened for application starting from today until March 29. The contest will be held at Ching-sheng International Conference Hall on 0630 p.m. April 1. The annual event runs to its 25th year in 2010. The contest is open for students in undergraduate and in the school of Professional and Continuing Studies. The time limit for recitation is three minute. Some of the standards for grading include articulation, expression, completeness of the recitation, and posture. The top five winners of the contest will be given certificates and award money. The sum of prize money from No. 1 winner to the fifth are NT$ 3000, NT$ 2000, NT$ 1800, NT$ 1500, NT$ 1200.

AWARD-GIVING CEREMONY TO BE HELD AT ANNUAL TQM SEMINAR

“2009 Academic Year Total Quality Management Seminar” will be held at March 26 at the two venues in Tamsui campus--Ching-sheng International Conference Hall and the Chueh-sheng International Conference Hall. Members of the Lanyang campus will also be able to join the seminar via a teleconference. The main topic of the seminar is “Sharpening Quality Management Skills and Enhancing Cross-Unit Cooperation.” The organizers have invited Lin Li-hua, a quality management engineer of the Taichung Veterans General Hospital to give a speech to share her experience in quality control. Lin will also give away awards to top three winners of an in-campus quality circle contest.
