The College of Business and Management Cooperate with Taiwan Stock Exchange

【Reported by Wu-xue Yi, Min-hua Wu, Tamkang Times】The College of Business and Management is once again working together with Taiwan Stock Exchange, to design two courses for the following semester: Tendencies of the Financial Market and Practice of the Financial Market. Associate Professor of the Department of Finance, Kuang-ping Ku, invited elites of the related financial service organizations from all over the world to give lectures.

The opening assembly for the 2014 Honor Roll Program took place on October 13th in the Chueh-sheng International Conference Hall. In attendance was President Flora Chia-I Chang, Vice President of Academic Affairs, Huan-chao Keh, Vice President of Administration, Yi-jen Hu, Dean of the College of Liberal Arts, Sinn-cheng Lin, Director of the Office of Academic Affairs, Tung-wen Cheng and students from the honor program, totalling to 116 individuals.

Library Information Event for International Students

【Reported by Qi-zhuo, Tamkang Times】On October 16th the Chueh-sheng Memorial Library held an event titled, “How International Students Can Utilize Library Resources.” Many international students participated in the event hosted by Director of Reference and Information Services Section, Su-jing Chang, who stated, “This is the first time the library has held a lecture like this for international students, I’m sure it will prove to be very useful for everyone.”

They invited, The Super Group, an international group of technological innovators, to share their experiences, concepts and ideas for two days. Speaker of the Department of Information and Communication, Chih-I Lai, stated, “Because the world is moving rapidly in the direction of innovative technology and development, it’s crucial for students to keep up with the continually changing trends of the industry.”

【Reported by Jin-yu Cai, Tamkang Times】The 2014 Yearly Student Association Meeting took place on October 17th inside the Chueh-sheng International Conference Hall. Lanyang Campus also attended via video conference. The meeting was hosted by Dean of Student Affairs, Chih-en Ko, who invited Vice President of Administration, Yi-jen Hu.

One Student Association Candidate Disqualified for Running For Office

【Reported by Yi-feng Lu, Tamkang Times】A controversial issue ensued for the 20th annual Student Association Election. The three candidates running for student office, were asked to legally register on October 14th between the time of 12:00 and 12:30. One candidate and four-year student of the Department of Mass Communication, Bo-yi Cai, was tardy by ten minutes, and forfeit his running position. The student was understandably upset and contacted off-campus media to protest against the rule.
