【Reported by Jin-yu Cai, Tamsui Campus】April 23rd marked World Book and Copyright Day and the Chueh-sheng Memorial Library held the, “TKU Lib Talk” in celebration of the occasion. For the special event, President Flora Chia-I Chang read passages from, “The Winds of Freedom: Challenges of the University” written by Gerhard Casper. Also in attendance were the three university vice presidents and first and second level administrators and staff members.

In attendance was President Flora Chia-I Chang, Director of Lanyang Campus, Jyh-horng Lin and Heads of Each Department, making a total of 200 people.

【Reported by Yi-mei Chen, Jin-yu Cai Tamsui Campus】“Let’s Talk About Tamsui” has finally been published! It’s currently available at the Ching-sheng Library and many large online stores in Chinese/English, Chinese/Spanish, Chinese/French, Chinese/German and Chinese/Japanese. The book acts as a travel guide that introduces 15 famous locations of the Tamsui region. Associate Professor of the Department of English, Chi-szu Chen, was invited for the reading of the new publication, showcasing the great language learning capability that the book entails.

TKU Makes Agreement for Academic Industry Boat Design Program

【Reported by Huan Zhuang, Tamsui Campus】In order to increase research at the university, Supervisor of the Industry-Academy Cooperation Section, Chien-yu Wang, Professor of the Department of Electrical Engineering, Shung-wen Kang, Professor of the Department of Chemistry, Kuo-jen Hwang and Professor of the Department of Physics, I-nan Lin, headed to Ship and Oceans Industries R&D Center for an academic visit. The discussion revolved around aspirations of the Ship and Oceans Industries R&D Center cooperating with Tamkang for an academic-industry internship in the near future.

The event included around 80 people and was hosted by Dean of the College of Science Bo-chang Wang, Supervisor of DaAi TV, Jian-ming Tang, and Editor of Yuan-Liou Publishing Co.,Ltd, Jung-pei Pang.
